El Chaer Law Firm and one of its strategic allies in Washington DC, White & Case law firm, represented during 2014 Commissions Import Export S.A. (Commisimpex) against the Republic of Congo, before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia concerning a motion for sanctions submitted by Commisimpex. On March 30, 2017 the Court granted our motion for contempt and for sanctions against the Republic of Congo which has been found in contempt of court and ordered to pay up to $50,000 per week until it answers Commisimpex’s interrogatories as ordered by the first instance court.
